About Me
My name Mary-Evelyn Riviere, but most people know me as Christina. I was born in Baton Rouge, La. and raised in Port Allen, La. I am a 2011 Saint Joseph's Academy alumnae. After a job shadowing experience with the then New Orleans Hornets, I was convinced mass communication and public relations were the right fields for me.
More than nine years later, I am still happy with my choice. I was fortunate to have found a home within the large campus of LSU. I truly believe the Manship School of Mass Communication gave me the framework to utilize my skills to the fullest. In May 2020, I began serving as the Marketing Manager of Guarantee Restoration Services, based in Baton Rouge. The company has three other branches in Lafayette, New Orleans and Gulfport, Mississippi. Primarily, I manage social media, write website blogs and update content, videography and create presentations. I work directly with the business development team on event and conference planning, printed collateral pieces and coordinating all marketing promotional items. Formerly, I worked Chef John Folse & Company in Gonzales, Louisiana, where I served as the Communications Assistant. I worked directly with Chef John Folse choosing recipes for monthly television segment shoots.I also wrote press releases, designed fliers and advertisements and researched and planned events. In 2017, I served as the marketing executive assistant at The American Shrimp Company, which was a online shrimp retail startup based in Baton Rouge. I worked primarily with the vice president and plant manager of The Baton Rouge Shrimp Company, which was the parent business. In addition, I worked at dezinsINTERACTIVE for more than two years, where I was the social and digital media manager. In the summer of 2014, I completed a media relations internship for the Lakeshore Chinooks of the Northwoods Baseball League as well. During my undergraduate career, I also served as the photo editor for FORUM, which is PRSSA National's newspaper. I was a Public Relations Intern at VAR Events in Baton Rouge. Previously, I served numerous roles for ImPRint Communications (formerly PRestige Public Relations) at LSU. I was on the communications committee for PRSSA at LSU as well. I enjoy social networking, especially on Twitter and Facebook. I love baking and event planning and design. My interests also include watching and attending sporting events, especially LSU Baseball. I really enjoy traveling to different ballparks across the country as well. |
